When ENDOOM screens are on it seems like the console also waits for the ENDOOM to quit, but when quitting it the program freezes on it for a while before actually exiting too, so maybe it should skip the console output when ENDOOM is on.

I've been loving rzdoom but it seems to output console messages after quitting the game and on longer play sessions it takes a strangely long time, is this a bug?
Otherwhise I haven't had issues with it, still the smoothest zdoom port I've played on. -

I'm not sure if modifications would count here, but I really wish more WADs tried to make the pistol a viable weapon instead of making it the gun you use once and never again. Besides, I think this would also help encourage pistol starts when you're not just stuck with a pea shooter every map start.

@segfault I'm really excited for Antiquity, from what you've shown it seems really fun and also I love your idea of a showcase of the features in DOOM Retro, looks like that helps a lot in making it feel unique.

Your replacement sounds like it could be a Rise of the Triad weapon.
I personally don't really enjoy using the BFG much because it can easily become very inconsistent, but I wouldn't replace it, the mechanics it creates are way too interesting to get rid of it even if it gets a little painful. -
flavor.wad | spice mod focused on Woof! and DSDA-DOOM
At the request of and with help from @MattFright I started a small mod to make simple visual additions to DOOM, using some MBF21 features to help add some flavor to the game. It has some features taken from projects we're collaborating on for DOOM UNIVERSE, and as such I'm posting it here first.
This mod will technically run on anything that supports MBF21 but Woof and DSDA-DOOM are where it looks best!
Features!:
- Better plasma rifle sound.
- Color palette for nicer tones.
- Smoke particles for inflight rockets and small plasma particles for the plasma rifle and BFG projectiles.
- Better sprites for the armor bonuses.
- Animated keys.
- Most importantly, temporary but abundant blood on the floor when shooting enemies, enjoy the carnage! (colored blood added for dsda-doom)

This wad is designed for complevel 21, playing on lower complevels is possible but most effects won't work, it is also recommended to load the wad before other wads you may want to play with it! But if you encounter any issues, try loading it at the end.
flavor.rarDownload includes flavor.wad and flavorbig.wad, flavorbig.wad includes 2 different type of blood splats while flavor.wad has only 1, the other 2 files are dsdhacked specific versions, which don't serve much purpose right now but may have better compatibility with future things...

This is for a small mod focused on ports like woof and dsda-doom, just small visual enhancements for the vanilla game to feel a little better. Unfortunately I can't have better video quality.
