I like upgrading items and adding powerups so giving extra armor and a soulsphere should work out nicely. Maybe remove/replace a few select troubling monsters but my aim is to keep the opposition similar but with boons you didn't need to type any codes for.

RE: AI tool to create tileable images
Oh sweet! Glad it works online. So far have gotten patterns but nothing that could be a widely-used textures, so I assume I just need better prompts. The current one I used is taking a while to get anything and I hope it's just the AI putting cooling tubes to work and that it isn't broken :S
If this can really make a lot of great textures then dang that's a machine godsend!
EDIT: yeah it might be broken for the time being x-x

RE: Frightening Experiments 1: Recluse Tech (complevel 21)
This project makes me a bit nostalgic for the good ol' Skulltag days. Demos recorded in dsda-doom, hope I didn't miss any submissions.
@TripleGenesis Waiting for your new map update + download link
@hotdogkirby First here's your demo fe1-kirby.lmp
I like the clean looks of this map. Your switch where the chaingun is has some extra edges on the sides, and changing the texture on top of it would be nice too. As for the final fight maybe you'd want to put some monsters on top of the bridge too so you have some height dynamics there.@Large-Cat Did not finish. Here's your demo fe1-largecat.lmp but whenever you see me bumping around lost is when you should close it. I wanted to finish this map but I got stuck in the chaingun area and didn't know how to get out. Mildly peeved about not getting a zombieman double kill on the first enemies seen! Anyway this map looks pretty cool and the gameplay is more exciting and challenging. I first took the route to the berserk area, but I'm not sure how you intended the player to progress in the area because I punched all the initial enemies and found the plasma rifle at the end. So if you wanted me to get the plasma rifle then the enemy opposition was a bit too beefy for me to feel comfortable running past into the unknown. In the chaingun area I was able to kill enemies through some windows, which also looked pretty beefy. I think you could reduce the monster count and still achieve the same effects of the monsters used. Anyway I got stuck here and kept bouncing around and while doing so one of the monster closets opened so I assume I just skipped some triggers when entering? Switches could also use a new texture on top of them, nitpicky about switches today I suppose.

RE: How would you imagine a psychopath playing Doom?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bajUsCpTMAo
I Definitely Have Never Played Doom Like This Btw
- They Play HighSchool Map WADs , But With HDoom
- They Load Every WAD With Also The IWAD
- They Switch To The Pistol/Regular Fist If The Shotgun Didn't Kill The Imp
- They Play With A Joystick
- They MouseLook With A TouchPad
- They Still Hold Alt To Strafe
- They Play With Minimized ScreenSize
- They Use Their Taunt Button After Every Fight And/Or Kill

RE: "Filler" Maps?
Thank you for the context I understand it better now. So it'd kind of just be a map whose sole purpose is to pad out a WAD to reach that full 32 map megaWAD status with nothing interesting about it. And yeah "filler maps" is an insulting term, especially if the map actually did have inspired and such qualities about it. Oh well, differing interpretations

"Filler" Maps?
I remember hearing the term "filler maps" thrown around and I assume they mean maps that don't have anything too special about them, or don't leave as big of an impact as a majority of others. It's nice to think about a WAD that's all killer no filler, but then I wonder if there can be exhaustion in that if it seems every map is competing with the other for the most awe-some map with no breather room. "Breather maps" is also a thing, but is the only differentiation between a "breather" and "filler" map their place in the map lineup?
What do you think is a "filler map," and do you think they have a purpose in serving the player well in large mapsets? Thoughts?

RE: HardBoiled - Spetsnaz
Very nice! First mapset I thought to use this with is Bloody steel. The pistol and the UKM-2000's reload animations feel kind of static compared to everything else. I do like the chainsaw graphics and animation, but maybe the hand could use similar subpixel animation like the chainsaw does during use.

RE: CAPTCHA
I wonder what data AI can farm from online tarot card readings. I forgot about those but did one just now with my reliable method of spamming my left click all over the cards until I can't pick any more. Surely there is some ethereal form of guidance to my seemingly chaotic hand movements.
Imagine you are presented with a bowl with strawberry or chocolate treats but you can't tell which is which flavor so you simply take the one that is first presented to you. Whichever flavor you wanted is the one you naturally reached out to, while those that disturbed the mound and stifled their own destiny got their less desired flavor of treat. Thanks universe! Different methods for different occasions but it just works!
This may help the robots become better oracles. All-knowing and all-seeing information brokers at least with a side hustle.

RE: Post screenshots of the projects you're working on!!
@segfault Late response but thank you! When I mess with this again I'll have to change the colors to not black-and-white and will probably have to redo the entire palette to be gradients of strong colors.
Your nightmare imp is very cool and maybe the upgrades it has will make it a higher priority to target even among a group of normal imps. IDK if they'll infight though.

RE: CAPTCHA
IDK if you guys remember those ads/games that showed up asking you to shoot ipods for the chance to win a free one. Well I saw one one time that wanted me to shoot green aliens, except they used the pinky sprites from Doom and recolored them green so yeah that'd be much better.

CAPTCHA
Everything requires me to prove I'm not a robot nowadays. Perhaps the demographics of the Internet would show that at least 50% of all users are actually bots! Oh yeah, and the constant need to prove I am a human amidst lightning speed Internet browsing is very annoying. There should be in-theme captcha's out there for certain websites to at least make it suck less.
I'm not a robot btw in case anyone's wondering. Though I don't know how many botnets I am unwillingly part of

Visual experimentation except I don't know exactly what I'm doing (hadn't accounted EXACTLY for how skies behave in Doom):
Finally got around to trying to replicate the Killer7 look

RE: Most angled HUD weapons aren't bad
Dual-wielding angled weapons for bullet weapons should be good since if it's positioned right (not duplicating a centered weapon graphic) you could get another form of lower precision crosshair.
