I want to say again that all the details are amazing ohmigosh I love it all so much the health regen station had some waiting time but I was really fascinated with the mirror. I went back and forth a lot because of how cool I thought it was and trying to break it was of low priority. The ghost monsters are fun but both tries I died at the end, though for some reason I kept looking at the map in the final room and that's why I shot a rocket at my face. Great experience!

RE: What Doom texture would you use as wallpaper at home?
BROVINE for the bedroom
SKULWAL3 for the bathing room
TANROCK4 for the living room
STONE2 for the kitchen
ZZWOLF5 for anything else and if it doesn't work then more BROVINE is always good. -

You can also get more gibs out of imps if their body moves to a new elevation before a complete stop

Easier mode joe2.lmpTough map but still fun! The teleporter next to the yellow key exit door is W1 unless I skipped a linedef and I had it easier my first run or so due to lost souls being past the limit so Pain Elementals weren't spawning any so you might want to reduce the count in that lava pool. My only request is for you to add difficulty settings. But yeah thank you for the map!

RE: Most angled HUD weapons aren't bad
Dual-wielding angled weapons for bullet weapons should be good since if it's positioned right (not duplicating a centered weapon graphic) you could get another form of lower precision crosshair.

Heretic automatically removes the Wings of Wrath from your inventory entering the next level. So you don't have to worry about maps being sequence broken by them during continuous play
All other inventory items are limited to 1 when moving on to the next map.

Thank you for the context I understand it better now. So it'd kind of just be a map whose sole purpose is to pad out a WAD to reach that full 32 map megaWAD status with nothing interesting about it. And yeah "filler maps" is an insulting term, especially if the map actually did have inspired and such qualities about it. Oh well, differing interpretations

@Walter-c Purposefully contrasting variety is the most determining factor in map lineup. Easy to hard, simple to complex, action to puzzling and vice versa.

RE: Methods to create resource WADs
I just put everything in SLADE. If I need to mess with DeHacked myself I use WhackEd4, otherwise I'll just take it from another WAD dissecting/isolating it (which also helped me learn how it works).
I tend to exclude graphics such as skies and anything with the same name as a vanilla asset from the PP/FF_START/END markers since they don't need to be added to 'TEXTURE1.' You will likely have to manually edit the dimensions of something like 'DBRAIN' to match whatever you replace that with in the 'TEXTURE1' lump though, since the vanilla asset is so small for what you might be having animate in its stead. BTW when you do put textures in SLADE you only have to use 'add to TEXTUREx.' I try to organize textures by naming them with prefixes to help sort through the type of texture it is and make it easier to find things.
The first thing I put in a resource WAD is the MIDI music!

It's beautiful! I suffer from a skill issue preventing me from killing the cyberdemons but as for the cacodemons I've never seen them rise from their pits and don't even know if they'll ever come out. I don't know if you've 100%'d this yourself but I ended up winning the game anyway from wandering around and dying at the end. Are you keeping the MAP01 MIDI? That's fine and I think this is a suitable final level for the project. I wanted to get a better view of the in-game cat face from the outer reaches with a staircase to peek above the play area but it's okay. Glad it's finally here but yeah check out the demo and get more feedback! I don't think I had any visual errors aside from a stray slime trail.

Your Favorite Doom Map Trap?
What's your favorite traptastic deadly Doom map surprise?
My favorite trap would actually be one of my own where the player goes into a tight space with a single door, but when they open the door is a bunch of barrels with a shotgunguy behind them where the player might blow themselves up in a space where they can't easily back away from. Mwhahahahaha
Other than that I actually can't think of many besides the good ol' pop-up squad of chaingunners.

@NoisyVelvet The MIDI soundtrack I have for this is a lot of jazz, stuff from geocities, and Yamaha demo MIDIs so it could be either a slower smoother jazz piece or sticking with the MAP01 MIDI if left up to me. But yes you can delegate it to me if you wish.
